When I first published Heather’s Mannequin two months ago, I didn’t have a following of any kind. There was little to no anticipation built. I didn’t even have a Twitter account. At the time of this writing, I almost have 1.5 thousand followers. It’s not exactly much, but it’ll do for now. What’s more, I also didn’t have a website to my name. I was guilty of commiting two of the worst sins for any indie writer.

As an act of atonement, the Kindle version of HM is now available for 99 cents. I will post the link to it below (also the paperback can be purchased for $9.99, whole lotta nines there). Also, I cannot run a free download campaign until next month since I already did that a couple weeks after publication (you’re only allowed to host a special promotion once every 3 months).

So why am I selling my brainchild at a discount, you ask? Because the sequel for Heather’s Mannequin is currently in development, folks!!!

Heather’s Veil is on its way!

I have a VERY good feeling that the manuscript will be completed by the end of the year, but I’ll refrain from making promises. It depends how long the post-first-draft editing process will be. If the drafting period of Mannequin is any indication, it’s going to be a few months. The first draft for Veil is, I believe, almost halfway done. The story will take place immediatedly after the events of Mannequin (NO SPOILERS, but for those who have read the book, you’ll know what’s up). The sequel will introduce some new characters and bring back some old ones. The theme and tone will be a little different. Mannequin was about Heather coming to terms with her body. Veil will be her making peace with what’s in her head.

I don’t want to say too much because I know not many of you have read the first book yet. It’s okay, you guys have time!
